The Gagosian Gallery exhibited several new examples of limited-edition furniture that Marc Newson spent more than ten years working on.


Newson’s cast-glass chairs are based on the symmetrical use of two hollow quarter-spheres. The chairs’ boldly colored upper half rests on a transparent foundation that absorbs some of the color reflected from the top half – an effect that changes inconspicuously depending on one’s position and perspective.
